IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
<< The machine may not be operated by more
than one person at any given time!
The machine was designed for safe operation
by "one person only".
<< During the shredding process no other
work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!
<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable
for use by children!
The overall technical safety concept of
this machine (dimensions, feed openings,
emergency shutdown devices etc.) does not
provide for any guarantee regarding hazard-
free operation by children.
MATERIAL JAM IN THE INLET CHUTE:
If too much material is fed to the machine, blo-
ckage occurs at the cutting system. Turn the
selector switch (2) (fig. 1) to the „R" position.
The cutting system runs in reverse and free up
excess materials.
Remove excess materials from the machine and
continue processing with a smaller amount of
material.
If the selector switch (2) no longer
remains in the „I" position (due to
motor overload or blown fuse), do not,
under any circumstances, hold the
selector switch (2) in the „I" position
manually. This would eventually result
in destruction of the motor over a
period of time.
MOTOR FAILURE:
If the motor is overloaded, an integrated thermal
release interrupts the power supply and the ma-
chine comes to a standstill.
The selector switch (2) (fig. 1) jumps back to the
„0" position. The machine is once again ready for
operation after a cool-down period of approxima-
tely 5 to 10 minutes.
GEAR BOX MAINTAINANCE:
The gear wheels, as well as the chain wheels and
drive chains must be greased monthly.
The machine must be turned off at the
mains switch (1) (fig. 1) and unplugged
before the machine is opened.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the left side cover and the right side
cover from the housing.
<< Danger of injury! Never insert fingers into
opening!
<< In case of danger switch the machine off
with the mains switch, or with the emer-
gency switch, or unplug the machine!
<< Always unplug the machine from the
mains power supply before opening the
machine!
Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!
MALFUNCTIONS
FAULT CHECKLIST:
If the machine is not functioning properly, you
should check the following:
- Is the unit plugged into the mains power
supply?
- Is the mains switch (1) turned on?
- Is the selector switch (2) turned on?
- Is there a material jam in the inlet chute?
Follow the instructions under „MATERIAL JAM
IN THE INLET CHUTE".
- Is the motor overloaded?
Please refer to „Motor Failure".
- Is there a phase failure?
Check the three-phase fuse at the power supply
socket, and replace if necessary.
If you still cannot isolate the fault after carrying
out all these checks, please notify our customer
service department.
Always unplug the machine from the
mains power supply and turn off the
mains switch before opening the ma-
chine to carry out any repairs.
MAINTENANCE
2. Grease the above mentioned parts with a brush
or a grease gun, and a standard, commercially
available grease.
3. Re-install the side covers and connect the
machine to the mains. The machine can be
put back into operation.
No structurel modifications may be
carried out!
In case of non-observance, the opera-
tion permission expires.
<< Danger of injury! Keep all
loose articles of clothing, ties,
jewelery,longhairorotherloose
objects away from opening!
