Bitmask
This data requires that bytes (which number is specified by "Size" column) are interpreted as a bit mask.
Bit meaning is indicated in the "Notes" column.
In case of a 4 byte data, first byte (in serial receiving order) will contain bitmask's bits from b0 to b7, second byte will contain ones from b8 to
15, third the ones from b16 to b23, fourth the ones from b24 to b31.
For example consider the data:
Addr
Type
Size Name
0x0804
bitmask
4
if active alarms would be the following 10:
bitmask will have active the bits b0, b5, b7, b8, b14, b15, b23, b24, b25 e b26 which will be coded by the following 4 byte (in receiving serial
order):
Byte 0
Byte 1
Byte 2
Byte 3
Request pack (2 word starting from register 0x0804 to Sentinel addressed 1) and related reply pack with over mentioned data would be:
Request: 01 03 08 04 00 02 87 AA
String
String type refers to a variable length string (ASCII characters sequence) whose max dimension is specified in the MODBUS object description
tab. In the column "Size". Sequence ends with the first character of ASCII code 0x00. Eventual other character have to be ignored.
Example: if data would be the following:
Addr
0x0200
And company is "ACME" it would be:
• as coded ASCII sequence (excluding prefix 0x intending hexadecimal data):
41 43 4D 45 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Where the characters following the first 00 are set to zero but could generally be not defined and casual as however not significant.
• Reply pack (8 word starting from register 0x0200 to Sentinel addressed 1) and related reply pack with overmentioned "ACME" string would be:
Request: 01 03 02 00 00 08 45 B4
Reply: 01 03 10 41 43 4D 45 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 A8 80
Array
Notation <data type>[<elements number>] indicates that a certain memory portion related to contiguous registers ha sto be interpreted as an
array of <elements number> type <data type>.
In this case in the receiving/sending sequence the lowest index array elements will lead.
Fixed length string (without terminating character 0x00) are indicated as character array (ex: char[10] for a 10 character fixed length string).
