Using a standard thermal disinfector for baby bottles (not a microwave
oven)
Disinfection must last at least 15 minutes. Regarding disinfection and the
quantity of water required for this, it is essential to follow the instructions for
use of the disinfector you are using. Always check carefully that it is clean and
fully functional.
A damp environment may encourage the growth of bacteria. There-
fore, remove the individual components from the pot or disinfector as
soon as disinfection has finished. Dry the parts as described in
chapter 6.3.3. The risk of infection is reduced when the parts are
dried completely.
6.3.3
Drying
• Place the components of the PARI PEP System on a dry, clean and absor-
bent surface and let them dry completely (at least 4 hours).
6.3.4
Storage
• Between use, and in particular during long breaks in treatment, wrap the
PARI PEP System in a clean, lint-free cloth (e.g., a tea-towel) and keep it
in a dry, dust-free environment.
Please continue reading from Chapter 7 "Miscellaneous".

6.4 Hospital and medical practice

The cleaning, disinfection, and sterilisation procedure described in
this chapter applies to all individual parts of the PARI PEP System
with the exception of the pressure gauge, the pressure gauge con-
nection tube and the adapter. These parts are to be wiped down
with a damp cloth when necessary. Replace the tubing if it is
contaminated.
When the PARI PEP System is used for several patients, it must be cleaned,
disinfected and sterilised before each change in patient.
Please ensure that only adequately validated device-specific and product-
specific procedures are used for cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation, and
that the validated parameters are observed in each cycle.
