5.2 Anchor point Skylotec Alufix AP-003 and AP-US-003 installed on steel structures.
Required fixings:
The Alufix anchor point is approved according to EN 795:2012 and CEN/TS16415:2013 N
anchor device for 3 people and according to ANSI Z359.1:2007 N
proven that the anchoring uses fasteners (screws) approved by technical building regulations.
The length should be selected according to the thickness of the substructure plus the maximum height of the Alufix.
Required tools:
Drill
Steel drill D=13mm
Conical countersink 90°
Poss. colour to repair the installation site
Calibrated torque wrench
Ratchet key and SW 19 plugs
For installation on steel or steel structures:
The torque should be 85Nm for an 8.8 M12 screw and 55Nm for a stainless steel screw (strength category 70).
The distance from the hole should be calculated so that the mounting surface of the anchor point always lies fully
on the steel.
Reaming is only permitted for a material thickness of at least 1.4 x the thread diameter e.g. 1.4 x 12 = 16.8 mm.
The area in which the anchor point is to be installed must be able to safely take static forces of 14kN for EN
795:2012 and 44.4kN for ANSI Z359.1:2007. This area must therefore be statically approved accordingly. The
screw connection must be secured against inadvertent loosening using liquid bolt adhesive.
