MAINTENANCE

7.1 Inspection

The assembled Alufix anchor point (AP-0003 and AP-US-003) must be inspected as required
(for contamination, damage, etc.) and at least once a year by a qualified person. A qualified person is someone who
has sufficient knowledge in the field of personal protective equipment against falls through training and experience. It
must be ensured that he or she can assess the safe working condition of the fall protection system. He or she must be
familiar with the relevant directives and the generally recognised rules of the technology (e.g. EN standards).
An inspection record is available for download from our website
If the stipulated maintenance intervals are not adhered to, any further liability of SKYLOTEC GmbH is excluded.

7.2 Maintenance during use

The system and its components must be kept in good working order without any damage or corrosion. Damaged or
bent components or components that have been weakened by a fall must be removed from use. Non-compliance with
these instructions may result in serious or fatal injury.
All screws and adhesive connections must be constantly checked for tightness.
If any defects are identified, the anchor point should not be used. It must be checked by a qualified person and
repaired if necessary.

7.3 Maintenance and Care

Alufix anchor points do require any particular care, although attention should be paid to the cleanliness and legibility
of the labelling.
Please note: All anchor points should be checked and maintained each year by a qualified
person.

7.4 Service life

The service life depends on the individual operating conditions. The AlufixAP-003 and AP-US-003 are made of forged,
powder-coated aluminium and are therefore resistant to corrosion and weathering and require little maintenance.
Regular cleaning helps to extend the service life by removing corrosive substances from the surface, thereby protecting
them from premature ageing.
A total service life of maximum 15 years is possible under optimal operating conditions. When
checking the system, the qualified person will make a decision about the remaining service life.
The anchor point should no longer be used after a fall.
8.

WARRANTY

Under normal operating conditions, the product is guaranteed for one year. Some of the materials used are not
resistant to particularly aggressive conditions, such as permanent, alternating immersion in seawater or the splash
zone of seawater, chlorine-containing atmospheres in indoor swimming pools or atmospheres with extreme chemical
pollution. In this case, the warranty is invalid.
In the event of a fall, the warranty becomes null and void, since the components have been designed so that they
absorb energy by deformation. After a fall, the entire system must be checked and affected components must be
replaced.
Please note: The manufacturer's liability for defective products does not include damage to
property or personal injuries, which can occur even with the proper functioning and correct
application of personal fall protection equipment. This manufacturer's liability will be rendered
null and void if the equipment is modified, or local regulations are not complied with or
followed.
