10. Lift the cushion (G) and firmly grasp the M8 screw (J2), pushing it
down.
11. Place the nut (J4) on the screw (J2). Next hand tight it well with the
spanner. Tighten it to ensure that the metal bracket (H) is totally secure.
This step is extremely important for the child's safety.
12. Clip the footrest protections (E.1) onto the child seat (A). Make sure
that they are correctly positioned. This step is extremely important for the
child's safety.
13. Loosen the screws (I1) on the mounting block (I), with the Allen key
no. 5 (I5).
14. Before placing the block on the frame, make sure that the protective
rubber is correctly positioned on front of the block.
15. Place the main body of the mounting block (I2) on the front of
the bicycle frame. Note: Make sure that the brake cables are correctly
positioned in the central groove of the metal plate (I4).
16. Tighten the screws, with the Key (I5), so that the mounting block (I)
is secured but not fully tightened so that, if necessary, you can adjust the
height later. However, note that it should be tight to make it easier to
complete the next step. You need to tight it in cross.
17. Place the edges of the metallic bracket (H) at the holes of the metallic
bracket (I) until you hear a click indicating the lock, and until the centre
button (I3) shall be level with the exterior of the hose metallic bracket.
18. Centre and adjust the metallic bracket (H) at a height above the
rear wheel, so that later, when you add the weight of the child, the
baby seat does not touch the wheel. Note that the metallic bracket
should be positioned at a maximum of 10cm away from the wheel. The
child seat has a centre of gravity (F) (inscribed on the child seat) that
must be positioned in front of the rear wheel axle. If it is positioned
behind the axle, the distance must not exceed 10 cm. If the centre
of gravity is more than this distance from the axle, adjust the metal
bracket to one of the available positions. Special care must also be
taken when positioning the child seat to ensure that the cyclist does not
touch the child seat with his feet when cycling.
Note: In Germany, according to the German Traffic Law StVZO, bicycle seats
may only be fixed so that 2/3 of the seat depth or the Gravity Center of the
seat is located between the front and rear axle of the bicycle.
After adjusting the height and positioning of the seat, hand tighten the
mounting block (I) to ensure that it cannot move. This tightening must be
manual and is extremely important for the safety of the child. Make sure
that the mounting block (I) is firmly attached.
19. Pass the safety belt (C) around the bicycle frame. Adjust it as shown in
the picture, under tension.
20. To place the child in the seat, first fully extend the belt straps (B), using
the adjusters (B2). This makes it easier to put the helmet when the child is
in the seat. Do the same for the other side.
21. To put the child in the seat, open the lock (B1) of the safety belt (B)
and press the three buttons of the lock (B1) as indicated. Before starting
your ride, make sure the seat belt is properly adjusted and that it does not
hurt the child. This adjustment is made by sliding the belt adjustors (B2).
22. To adjust the height of the foot rest (E) that suits your child's size,
release the foot rest (E) from the seat (A) by pressing the two fasteners
together and lift the foot rest as indicated in the picture ( it may be
necessary to apply some pressure).
23. To guarantee your child's safety, adjust the strap (D) of the foot rest.
Unlock the strap (D) and adjust it to the child's foot. Lock it again making
sure the strap does not hurt the child.
24. Make sure you have followed and fulfilled all the instructions given.
If so, the baby seat is ready for use. IT IS MANDATORY TO READ the
following chapter on safety instructions about using your baby seat.
