POWER SOURCES
Power the G6 by installing 2 AA alkaline (not included), lithium or Ni-MH
batteries or by plugging in the AC adapter. A symbol appears in the upper
right of the LCD, indicating battery or AC adapter power.
PREVENTING BATTERY LEAKAGE
To minimize the possibility of battery acid leakage, only use high quality al-
kaline, lithium or rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride batteries. Never intermix
old with new, or different brands or types of batteries. Damage caused by
battery acid leakage is not covered by this product's warranty.
TURNING THE G6 ON AND OFF WITHOUT/WITH
THE SLEEP TIMER
Use a quick, short press of the POWER/SLEEP,
radio without the sleep timer. Use a long press (3 seconds) to turn it on
with the sleep timer on.

BUTTONS
Numeric keypad buttons #1-7 have dual functions, one function with the
radio turned off and another with the radio turned on. These functions are
described in the text.
CHARGING NI-MH BATTERIES IN THE G6
With the optional AC adapter/charger connected, the G6 internally
recharges 2 Ni-MH (nickel-metal-hydride) rechargeable batteries (not
included). Note that the G6 can still play while the batteries are charging
and the alarm functions will work.
To charge batteries:
1. With the G6 turned off, install 2 NI-MH batteries and connect the AC
adapter/charger.
2. Press the battery charge button (numeric keypad #7) for about 3
seconds, or until CHG appears in the upper right of the display.
3. Use the tuning knob to select the charging time in hours (00-36) based
on the mAh rating of your batteries: 11 hours for 1100 mAH rating; 23
hours for 2300 mAH rating; etc.
4. Press the PAGE/TIME button when finished. In the display, the battery
symbol's segments continuously activate from left to right during charg-
ing. Battery charging terminates once the set charge time has been
reached.
SETTING UP AM AND FM OUTSIDE OF NORTH
AMERICA
Your G6 has been set up at the factory for use in North America (U.S. or
Canada), no changes to the initial factory settings are needed. If you're in
another part of the world, follow the steps below to set it for your area.
In North America, the FM band begins at 87.5 MHz. In other parts of the
world, it may begin at 87 MHz or 76 MHz.
