▪ Avoid moisture: For crispy results, dry the food well before deep-frying. This applies in particular
to the preparation of French fries.
Usage of the potato dicer
▪ Before using the potato dicer for the first time, clean it as described in the "Cleaning and care"
section.
▪ Afterwards, make sure that the blade insert is correctly positioned in the collection container and
that the upper part of the dicer is engaged in the guide ring.
Tip: Caution - risk of cutting!
▪ You can now put the potatoes on the blade insert, either peeled or unpeeled according to your
taste. The fries will be longer if you place the potato with its smallest surface on the blade insert
and press down lightly to secure it in place.
▪ Then put the upper part of the potato dicer over the potato. Make sure that the guide ring of the
upper part is placed over the collection container.
▪ Now press the upper part of the dicer firmly onto the potato so that the potato is pressed through
the dicer unit and cut.
▪ Only cut as many potatoes one after the other as the collection container can hold.
The number of potatoes that can fit in the container is heavily dependent on the size of the
potatoes.
Recipe for home-made fries
Ingredients:
▪ Potatoes
▪ Water
▪ 1 litre of oil
Method:
Prepare:
Peel or thoroughly wash potatoes according to taste
Slice:
Cut the potatoes into sticks of the same size using the potato dicer
Wash:
Wash the potato sticks in a cold water bath
Dry:
Dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel
First deep-fry:
Deep-fry the potato sticks for 3-5 minutes at 170°C
Cool:
Cool the potato sticks on a piece of kitchen roll
Second deep-fry: Fry the pre-fried and cooled French fries for 5-7 minutes at 190°C. (Do not defrost
frozen French fries before frying!)
Drain:
Remove and leave to drain briefly on a wire rack.
Season to taste with salt and other spices and serve with home-made dips. Other delicious vegetable
fries such as beetroot, parsnip or courgette taste even better when made from scratch.
Tip: For particularly crispy results, you can also freeze the pre-fried French fries overnight. (Pre-fried
French fries can also be kept for up to 2 months in the freezer. So you can always have some handy!)
