9. Attach the hex. socket securely onto the anvil. If 8.
the hex.socketis insufficientlysecured,it may drop
out and cause an accident. For hex. socket

10. Confirm the tightening torque by atorque wrench
before use in order to ascertain the correct
tightening torque to be used. (WR18DSDL)
11. If a universaljoint is used,be sure not to operate
the unit in a no-load condition. Operating in this
condition is dangerous. When the socket section
spins around it may cause injury to hands or
bodies, or the resulting intense vibration may

12. Be careful that foreign matters do not block the
holes locatedon both sidesof the handle.Also do
not close the holes with a tape. The holes act an

This manual contains important safety and
operating instructions for battery charger Model
UC18YRSL.
Before using battery charger,read all instructions
and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger,
(2) battery, and (3) product using battery.
To reduce risk of injury, charge HITACHI
rechargeablebatterytype BSL18 series.Other type
of batteriesmay burst causingpersonalinjury and
damage.
Do not expose batterycharger to rain or snow.
Use of an attachment not recommended or sold
by the batterycharger manufacturer may resultin
a risk of fire, electric shock,or injury to persons.
To reduceriskof damageto electricplug andcord,
pull by plug when disconnectingbattery charger.
Make sure cord is located so that it will not be
stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected
to damage or stress.
An extension cord should not be used unless
absolutely necessary.Useof improper extension
cord could result in arisk of fire andelectricshock.
If extensioncord must be usedmakesure:
a. That blades of extension cord arethe same
number, size,and shapeasthose of plug on
battery charger:
b. That extension cord is properly wired and in
good electricalcondition; and
c. That wire sizeis large enoughfor AC ampere
rating of battery charger as specified in
Table 1.
