Replacing the chuck:
Place chuck onto spindle (6) (a). Turn chuck lock
(5) in direction indicated by arrow (b) until chuck
slides fully onto the spindle, then release the chuck
lock.
Check to see that the chuck is properly seated.
Note: To keep the spindle from turning while
changing chucks, set the control knob (16) to
chiselling.

Tool Change with SDS Chuck

Before fitting, clean tool shank and apply
special grease 6.31800! Use only
SDS-Plus tools!
Inserting the tool:
Turn the tool while inserting, until it engages. The
tool is automatically locked.
Removing the tool:
Turn tool lock (3) in direction indicated by arrow (a)
and remove the tool (b).

Tool change with Futuro Plus keyless
chuck (not KHE 22 SP, KHE 24 SP,

KHE 26 SP, BHE 22, BHE 20 SP)

Use the keyless chuck when non-impact drilling in
metal, wood etc. and driving screws.

Insert tool. Grip the retaining ring (a) firmly and,
with the other hand, turn sleeve (b) towards "GRIP,
ZU", until the mechanical resistance which can be
felt is overcome.
Caution! The chuck is not yet fully tightened! Keep
turning (there is a "clicking" sound while turning),
until further turning is no longer possible - only now
is the tool securely tightened.
With a soft tool shank, retightening may be required
after a short period of operation.
Opening the drill chuck:
Grip the retaining ring (a) firmly and, with the other
hand, turn the sleeve (b) towards "AUF,
RELEASE".
Note: The ratchet sound which can possibly be
heard after opening the drill chuck, is functional and
is switched off by a reverse rotation of the sleeve.
If the chuck is extremely tightened:
Unplug. Hold drill chuck with an open end spanner
at the flats on its head and turn the sleeve (b) hard
towards "AUF, RELEASE".

Contact mode (KHE 26 Contact)

To enable the contact mode, press button (11).
If required, e.g. for drilling into steel girders or steel-
reinforced concrete walls, the contact mode can be
disabled by pressing the button (11).
The contact mode indicator (10) shows the current
setting:
Green: contact mode enabled.
Red:
machine has switched off because contact
was made with conductive, earthed material or a
live supply cable.
Pull machine back and bit out of the hole
immediately. Have possible damage
properly repaired.
Off: contact mode disabled.
