You can choose between the LOCAL and DISTANT
mode for local or long-distance traffi c news.

(Only active if the AF function is switched on)
At certain times some stations divide up their program-
mes into regional programmes with varying content.
REGION ON:
Note: The display capacity is limited. It is possible
that in the double display mode some segments of the
display are deleted.
The function REGION ON prevents the radio from swit-
ching to alternative frequencies which have a different
regional programme content.

With the multifunction button (2) you can select the
desired switch-on volume.

You can select 2 different types of confi rmation beep

a) Press this button to switch the device on. WELCOME
appears in the display. Keep this button pressed to
switch the device off.
b) Press the /
button to switch off the loudspeakers for
a short period. The word MUTE fl ashes in the display.
Press this button again to cancel the mute function.
This function can also be cancelled by operating the
multifunction button.

This function prevents switching
to an EON station whose signal
is too weak. The radio does
not switch to this station and
the listener does not hear any
interference. The letters „LOC"
appeared in the display.
In this mode the EONTA circuitry
tries to receive the EONTA
information from any available
transmitter and thus improve
reception quality. The letters
„LOC" disappear from the display.
The regional mode is switched
on.
The regional mode is switched
off. The programme identifi cation
(PI) of the regional programme is
ignored during the search for an
alternative frequency (AF) or a
programme identifi cation (PI).

whenever a button is pressed.

TRANSFER Button (MODE/Call Acceptance)
a) Press this button to select the CD player, radio mode
etc.
b) Press this button to accept a telephone call.
c) Keep this button pressed down during a call in order
to transfer it back to your mobile telephone. Keep this
button pressed down again to transfer the call back to
the car radio. In both cases „TRANSFER
in the display.
6. B /
CLEAR Button (• BAND/• ERASE/• SEARCH)
a) Radio Operation
Press the B button briefl y to switch between the FM
levels. The designation of the corresponding FM level is
shown in the LCD display.
b) B button as a search function during MP3 playback:
If the corresponding data were created when a CD was
made in MP3 format, these can be searched for using
the following functions.
a) Direct input of the track number for CDs in MP3
format:
1. Press the B button once. The letters „NUMBER
" appear in the display.
2. With the help of the multifunction button (2)
you can now select the desired track number.
„No." appears in the display together with the
corresponding track number.
3. Then press the multifunction button (2) briefl y in
order to play back the selected track. Immedia-
tely after this the selected track is played.
b) Folder selection for CDs in MP3 format:
1. Press the B button three times. The letters
„NAVIGATE
2. With the help of the multifunction button (2) it is
now possible to select the various folders on the
CD.
3. Confi rm the selected folder by briefl y pressing
the multifunction button (2). The fi rst track of the
selected folder is displayed.
4. By turning the multifunction button (2) you can
now select a track within a folder.
5. Then press the multifunction button (2) briefl y in
order to play back the selected track.
Note:
•
If there are no folders on the MP3 CD, the word
„ROOT" appears in the display.
•
It is not possible to guarantee that CDs created
by the user can be played back due to the large
variety of software and CD media available.
•
During normal playback from CDs in MP3
format the
be used to jump up or down one folder in each
case.
•
Note: If ID-3 Tag information has been stored,
this runs across the display from left to right.
