7 Installation
CAUTION!
Extreme care must be taken when lifting and moving batteries, as personal injury and material
damage can be caused if a battery is dropped. Always wear safety boots and safety goggles.
Only ever lift batteries from underneath or using the provided handle strips. Never lift the battery
at the terminals, as this can destroy the batteries.
7.1 Assembling the battery carrier in conjunction with a charger/power inverter
For the sun | powerpack
systems with two carriers, the assembly of the second carrier is
classic
described in Section 7.1.1. For instructions on how to install the sun | powerpack
16.0/48 and 22.0/48 with multiple chargers or power inverters, refer to section 7.2.
1. Put out the floor mat at the final installation site. If needed, you can cut the floor mat to size
after setting up the battery. The floor mat compensates for minor unevenness at the instal-
lation site.
2. Place the carrier on the floor mat in such a manner that the open rear wall stands against a
wall. Keep a clearance of approx. 1 cm to the wall. In doing so, check the safety clearance and
the ventilation necessary in accordance with the specifications of the sections 6.1.1 and 6.1.2.
3. Remove the screw on the left side of the carrier (see figure 9). Remove the cover of the carrier
and place it down carefully (e.g. on cardboard) in order to avoid scratches to it.
4. Affix the nameplate (included in the scope of supply) as illustrated in Figure 1 on the carrier.
Write down the current date under "Commissioned on".

5. Unpack the isolator switch open it and remove the isolator switch handle.
6. Remove the cover of the connection section and fix the isolator switch with the help of two
screws, two flat washers and two nuts (Type NH00: M6, Type NH2: M10) on the upper level of
the carrier as illustrated in Figure 3.
7. Only for the NH2 isolator switch (24 V systems): Insert two of the screws, washers and nuts
supplied for fixing the isolator switch. Place the remaining four M10 nuts in the fixtures
provided for this purpose and tighten them under the right and left flange connection of the
connecting area on the outgoing and incoming side (see Figure 2).
