1.1 Putting into operation for the first time

1. Inserting the battery: Open the battery
compartment 1 of the unit and fit the
battery (pay attention to polarity!);
close the compartment again.

2. Inserting the pick-up: Insert the pick-up
2 into the pick-up holder.

Important: Handle the pick-up care-
fully, do not press on the tip!
Press the start key p 3 briefly. The LC
display is now active. (If not, the battery may
be exhausted. Connect the plug-in power
supply unit or charge the battery – refer to
Chapter 2.2.2).

Note: Without operation the unit
switches off automatically after 10 seconds.
3. Measurement: Place the unit on a flat
surface. Press the p key again.
The measuring run now starts. The
measured result for R a , R z or R max /R t is
displayed after a few seconds. Turn d :
The unit then runs through all measured
results.
