6. Cutter blade inspection
For safety, check the blade for wear and damage and check the tightness of
the bolts and nuts before starting the engine. Operating the hedge trimmer
with a worn, cracked, or damaged blade can cause a personal injury or
equipment damage. A worn, cracked or damaged blade can break and
pieces of the damaged blade can hit the operator or bystanders causing
death or serious injury.
CAUTION:
Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands, when working around the blade.
1. Stop the engine and make sure that the engine switch is in the OFF position.
2. Remove the cutter blade cover with heavy gloves on your hands.
3. Check the bolts and the nuts for looseness. Tighten up the bolts and nuts if they
are loose. If you cannot do it properly, consult an authorized Honda dealer.

4. Check the blade and guard for wear, bend, crack, discoloration from heat, and
other damage. If there is a problem with them, consult an authorized Honda
dealer.
