Check that pressure regulator (J) is completely
unscrewed.
Open gas valve (M), the pressure in the gas cy-
linder can be read off on pressure gauge (N). It
must be higher than the charging pressure of the
accumulator.
Screw in pressure regulator (J), the charging
pressure of the accumulator is read off on pres-
sure gauge (O). Charge the accumulator with 40
bar for the SBC 60 - HBC 1700 and HBC 6000,
and with 60 bar for the HBC 2500 and HBC 4000.
Tighten valve nut (F) with 30 Nm (SBC 60 - HBC
4000).
Tighten screw (B) with 20 Nm (HBC 6000).
Close gas valve (M).
Loosen the gas hose and adapter and screw the
protective casing/plug tight on the accumulator.
Deviating from the pressure valves reduces di-
aphragm life.
Maximum cleanliness must be observed when
changing the accumulator on the work site.
Changing the chisel, (Fig. 4)
!
CAUTION
Remember that the large chisels are heave.
Take care, and use suitable lifting equipment
when removing and fitting heavy chisels.
The carrier's engine must be switched off
when tools are being changed.
SBC hammers:
Knock out the locking pin with a suitable drift and
remove the chisels, one at a time.
Disassembly the tool.
Check that the lock buffer of the locking pin is not
damaged or worn.
Clean and lubricate the shank of the chisel before
fitting. It is especially important to lubricate a new
chisel thoroughly.
The procedure for fitting the chisel is the reverse
of the removal procedure.
HBC 1100 - 4000 breakers:
Knock out the locking pin and the roll pin and re-
move the chisel holders one at a time. On model
1700, the rubber expander is removed first with a
6 mm Allen key.
Remove the chisel.
Check that the parts are not damaged or worn.
Clean and lubricate the shank of the chisel before
fitting. It is especially important to lubricate a new
chisel thoroughly.
The procedure for fitting the chisel is the reverse
of the removal procedure. When fitting the roll
pin, use the drift supplied.
HBC 6000 breakers:
Remove rubber plugs (A).
Remove lock ring (B) and rubber plug (C).
Tap out locking pin (D).
Remove rubber plugs (E) and chisel holders (F).
Remove the chisel.
Check that the parts are not damaged or worn.
The shank must be cleaned and lubricated before
the chisel is fitted. It is particularly important to
lubricate properly when fitting a new chisel.
Fit the chisel in the reverse sequence to removal.
Use the punch supplied when fitting the tension
pin.
