this manual).

THE TWO MEMORISATION MODES OF TRANSMITTERS:
"Mode 1" and "Mode 2"
In a single Free-Max, up to 12 different transmitters can be memorised
with two different memorisation modes - "Mode 1" and "Mode 2".
• "MODE 1" memorisation
By using Mode 1 memorisation procedure (paragraphs 4.2, 15.1 and
15.2), a specific factory-set command is assigned to each key. The com-
binations are as follows:
key ▲, or 1: = Up
key ■ , or 2: = Stop
key ▼, or 3: = Down
additional key 4: = Stop
Note – The procedure described in paragraph 4.2 performs the memo-
risation of the FIRST Transmitter in Mode 1.
The memorisation of a single Transmitter in Mode 1 is made in a single
step and all the keys of the Transmitter occupy a single space in the
Free-Max memory. Therefore, it is not important which key is pushed
during the memorisation because the three (or four) keys are all memo-
rised together with a single action.
• "MODE 2" memorisation
Following Mode 2 memorisation procedure (paragraph 15.3), the
installer can select the command to be assigned to each key based on
the requirements of the end user. The possible commands are as follows:
1 = Step-by-Step
(Up – Stop – Down – Stop - ...)
2 = Up - Stop
(Up – Stop – Up – Stop - ...)
3 = Down - Stop
(Down – Stop – Down – Stop - ...)
4 = Stop
The memorisation of a single Transmitter in Mode 2 is made in various
distinct and separate steps, one for each key you wish to program (only
the key that is pressed is memorised; a new memorisation procedure is
required to memorise another key). The memorisation of the various keys
occupies the as many spaces in the Free-Max memory as the number of
keys memorised.
