Before You Begin

• Make sure the type of material you use can be
cleaned with either mineral spirits (for oil-based
materials) or a warm water and soap solution (for
water-based materials).
Note: Some stains may require thinning when
used with the Renuvo. If thinning is necessary,
use the proper solvent as specified by the material
manufacturer. Never exceed the thinning advice
given by the coating manufacturer.
• If you are working on an elevated deck, material
could drip through the gaps in the boards. It
is a good idea to have drop cloths protecting
anything (furniture, patio floor) directly below in
case of accidental spatters or drips.
iMpORTaNT: Some oil-based materials require
a stronger cleaning solution than mineral spirits
and should not be used with the Renuvo. Using
a cleaning solution stronger than mineral spirits
may cause damage to the Renuvo. Check with
your paint supplier to be sure the oil-based
material you have can be cleaned with mineral
spirits.

Setup

iMpORTaNT: perform the following steps
on drop cloths to make sure your floors and
furnishings are protected from any spills.
1. Press the red quick-release tabs (a) and attach the
pad assembly to the connecting area. Release
the quick-release tabs and make sure the pad
assembly is secured by gently pulling on it.
2. If you plan to coat a solid surface (such as a
hardwood floor), remove the brushes from the
pad.
3. Flip the unit on its side so the container cap is
facing up. Unscrew the cap from the container.
Fill the container with desired material (1/2 gal
max). Replace the cap.
Note: The container can also be removed for
filling. Press the red quick-release tabs (b) near the
bottom of the container and pull it off.
4. If you removed the container in order to fill it,
replace it onto the unit by sliding it back into
place. Make sure to re-engage the quick-release
tabs (b) on both sides of the unit in order to
secure the container. Make sure the fill cap is
facing to the left.
