Setting Material Flow
The flow of material to the pad is determined by the
handle trigger and flow control dial.
Trigger:
Material will flow to the pad whenever the trigger is
pulled. Material will stop flowing when the trigger
is released.
Note: The trigger may "stick" during first use.
This is normal.
Flow Control Dial:
a. Roll the Flow Control Dial backward and this
will limit the amount of "travel" in the trigger,
thereby allowing less material to flow to the
pad. This is recommended when using thinner
materials.
b. Roll the Flow Control Dial forward, and this will
give the trigger full "travel", thereby allowing
more material to flow to the pad. This is
recommended when using thicker materials.
a
Loading the pad
1. Depending upon the thickness of the coating
material, set the Flow Control Dial forward
(thicker) or backwards (thinner).
2. Squeeze and hold the handle trigger to release
material from the container to the pad. Help
saturate the pad and brush assembly by gently
"brushing" the pad along the surface you plan
to cover while holding the handle trigger.
Note: The pad and brush assembly works similar
to a sponge. When nearing the end of your project,
make sure to use as much of the material remaining
in the pad in order to minimize dripping.
General Renuvo Tips
Surface preparation
• Make sure the surface is clean and dry prior to
staining. It is a good idea to wash the surface
with a high-pressure sprayer prior to applying
material. Make sure the surface has ample time
to dry prior to beginning the project.
Material preparation
• If you need more than one gallon of material to
complete your project, mix them together to
ensure color uniformity.
• Write down the important information from
your material can (color, formula, brand and
material type) for future reference.

Usage

Staining the Surface
• Place the pad flat on the deck boards and
begin staining. Use a back-and-forth motion to
completely saturate the surface. Always finish
the stroke toward the front end of the pad.
This will reduce streaking and ensure an even
coating.
• Line up the gap in the deckboards (a) with the
guide on the top of the pad assembly (b) as
shown below. This will ensure that the gaps are
covered in material.
Note: Move the Renuvo in a gentle back-and-
forth "brushing" motion in order to ensure
material seeps into deckboard gaps.
b
• When using the pad and brush assembly,
always work from left side of your work area to
the right side of the work area.
• Pull the trigger as needed for more material. Be
careful not to over-saturate the pad as it may
drip, slide on the surface or spatter.
• For best results, maintain a steady flow of
material to the pad and avoid allowing it to dry.
Note: A second coat may need to be applied later
in order to acheive full coverage or finish you are
looking for. Follow application recommendations
for the material you are using.
Note: If you need to stop and take a break, it
is recommended that you stop after staining a
complete board in order to avoid making lap marks.
Note: During extended break periods, place a
plastic bag around the pad to keep it from drying
out.
