"MICROLOCK" RETENTION SYSTEM
Your new helmet is equipped with the exclusive "Microlock" retention system, which
is one of the most comfortable and modern systems available today thanks to its
micrometric regulation.
In order to have the maximum protection and to appreciate the advantages of the
"Microlock" system, carefully read the instructions contained in this label.
Put your new Nolan on, making sure the size is correct (see enclosed instructions
manual).
1. Attach the "Microlock" by inserting the dented tongue in the buckle a.
Warning: Do not twist the strap; the dented part of the tongue must be facing the
outside of the helmet.
Pull on the chin strap to make sure the locking mechanism is engaged.
2. Press the dented tongue completely, until you feel the strap press against your
cheek.
Warning: The tongue should not move freely in the locking mechanism.
3. Now try to take off your helmet by puling it from the back edge, rotating it
towards the front; the helmet must remain well fixed on your head (see enclosed
instructions).
4. If while performing step 3 you notice that the chin strap is too loose (this can be
determined by insufficient pressure on the jaw when the dented tongue is fully
inserted in the locking mechanism), then the strap must be pre-adjusted (short-
en the chin strap). If while performing step 3 you notice that the chin strap is too
tight (this condition can be determined if the chin strap is too tight when the dent-
ed tongue is on the third or fourth click), then the chin strap must be lengthened.
5. To make a pre-adjustment, release the helmet by lifting the red lever. Slip the
helmet off b.
Adjust the chin strap length by passing the strap through the metal adjusting
buckle c.
6. Repeat steps 1 through 3 taking care that the dented tongue has effected at
least 5 clicks into the body of the locking mechanism.
7. WARNING!!! LIFT THE RED LEVER ONLY WHEN YOU ARE REMOVING
YOUR HELMET! NEVER RELEASE THE LEVER WHILE DRIVING!
CARE OF "MICROLOCK" RETENTION SYSTEM
The effectiveness of the adjustment and retention system can be impaired by dust
or sand. We suggest periodic cleaning of the "Microlock" retention system using
only a solution of luke-warm water and neutral soap.
USE NOT SOLVENT, DO NOT LUBRICATE.
Manipulations or unusual events, which can compromise the working of the retention
system cannot be excluded.
If the "Microlock" system is not functioning properly discontinue the use of the
helmet.
