Finding the KM2 Communication module in the
network
6.1

DeviceDiscoveryTool

The DeviceDiscoveryTool is a software that displays RESOL products that are
connected directly via the local network.
Starting the DeviceDiscoveryTool from the included CD
Note
Starting the DeviceDiscoveryTool from the CD is possible under a Win-
dows operating system only. To start the DeviceDiscoveryTool, Java (ver-
sion 6 or higher) must be installed on the computer.
In order to start the DeviceDiscoveryTool from the included CD, proceed as follows:
Î Open the DeviceDiscoveryTool folder.
Î Start the Start DeviceDiscoveryToolSetup.exe.
Î Confirm all following dialogues with OK.
Î Click Start/Programs/RESOL/DeviceDiscoveryTool/
DeviceDiscoveryTool.
All LAN-enabled RESOL products found will be displayed.
Î Mark the KM2-{12-digit serial number} by clicking on it.
Î Click Open.
A new window with the Web interface will open.
Î Enter the user name and the password, see chap. 7.1 on page 31.
The Home screen of the KM2 Communication module Web interface will open.
Note
The user name is admin. The password can be found at the back of the
housing (Web-interface).
6.2

Service access (Access Point)

The WLAN allows the installer to directly connect to the KM2 under the address
http://192.168.240.01.
For further information, see chap. 5.1.1 on page 29.
6.3

Web interface

The Web interface of the KM2 can be accessed under http://192.168.240.1. The
LAN IP address and the WLAN IP address, respectively, will be indicated in the
status menu.

Web interface
The Web interface is integrated in the KM2 Communication module and can be
run on an Internet browser.
The Web interface has the following functions:
• KM2 Communication module – status indication
• KM2 Communication module – configuration
7.1

Menu

The menu column with all main menus and their corresponding submenus is indi-
cated on the left-hand side of the Web interface.
Note
The menu structure may change in later firmware versions.
The menu bar at the top of the Web interface contains the menu items Home
and Login.
Note
The indicated information and setting possibilities depend on the user
mode selected, see chap. 7.10 on page 33.
In order to use the Web interface to its full extent, login is required. In order to
log in, proceed as follows:
Î Click Login on the menu bar.
