16 USING THE DVD-9000 AS A D/A CONVERTER

2 The DVD-9000 can be used as a D/A converter by connecting it to an external digital component using the digital connectors.
Set the source selector to either "OPTICAL" or "COAXIAL".
• "– –" appears in the track number display section. The sampling
1
frequency of the external input signal is then displayed. ("– –" is
displayed if the sampling frequency cannot be detected.)
NOTES:
• D/A conversion is only possible with 16- to 24-bit, 32 to 96 kHz PCM signal sources.
Dolby Digital and DTS etc. bitstream signals cannot be converted.
• When the source selector is set to "OPTICAL" or "COAXIAL", only the power button and the OPEN/CLOSE button will work.
• The stop mode is set if the source selector is switched to "OPTICAL" or "COAXIAL" during playback.
• Noise will be output if the digital data of a CD-ROM, etc., is input.
• The digital data input from the digital input terminal is output from the digital output terminal as such.
(The data is output regardless of the "PURE DIRECT MODE" setting.)
