Press the shutter button again to stop recording.
• When the remaining recording time has been used up, recording stops
automatically.
• When there is space in the card memory, the remaining recording time is
displayed, and the camera is ready to shoot the next movie.
• During movie recording, the flash is disabled.
• It takes longer to store movies than still pictures.
Note
• The remaining time varies depending on the record mode and the
amount of space available on the card.
ZOOMING IN ON A SUBJECT (OPTICAL
ZOOM)
Telephoto and wide-angle shooting are possible at 5× magnification (the optical
zoom limit, equivalent to 28 mm to 140 mm on a 35 mm camera). By combining
the optical zoom with the digital zoom, zoom magnification can be increased to
a maximum of approximately 15×.
Camera movement is likely to occur at higher magnifications. Stabilize the
camera with a tripod, etc. to avoid camera movement.

Take the picture while looking in the viewfinder.
• Pictures taken with the digital zoom may appear grainy.

Press the flash pop-up button.
• The flash pops up.

Set the flash mode by turning the control dial while holding down #.
• The flash mode changes in the sequence shown below. (The selectable flash
modes may differ depending on the shooting mode.)

Press the shutter button halfway.
