Oil Fill Caps
NOTE: Be sureto checkthe engineon a levelsurfacewith the engine
stopped.
Toavoidenginedamage,it isimportant to:
•
Checkoil levelbeforeeachuseand every 5 operating
hourswhenengineiswarm.Checkoil levelmore
frequentlyduringengine break-in.
•
Keepoil levelbetween"H" and '%'markson dipstick.

•
Be sureoil fill cap/plug istightenedsecurelywhen
checking.
1.
Removetheoil fillercap/dipstickand wipethe dipstickclean. See
Fig. 10.
2.
Insertthe cap/dipstickintotheoil filler neck,and tightenthecap
untilseated.
3.
Removetheoil fillercap/dipstick.If the levelislow, slowlyadd oil
untiloil levelregistersbetweenhigh(H) and low(L), Fig. 10.
4.
Replaceandtightencap/dipstickfirmlybeforestartingengine.

Removethe oil filler cap/dipstickand wipe thedipstickclean. See
Fig. 11.
2.
Insertthe cap/dipstickintothe oil filler neck, restingon the
threads,but do nottighten.
3.
Removethe oil filler cap/dipstick.If the levelislow,slowlyadd oil
untiloil level registersbetweenhigh (H) and low (L), Fig. 11.
4.
Replaceand tightencap/dipstickfirmly beforestartingengine.
NOTE: Donot overfill.Overfillingwith oil maycause smoking,hard
starting,or sparkplug fouling.
NOTE: DONOTallowoil levelto fall belowthe"L"mark on the
dipstick.Doingso may resultin equipmentmalfunctionsor damage.
NOTE:Tochangethe oil on yourengine,see the MaintenanceSec-
