Gear Case
The augergear case is equippedwith a greasefitting. Lubricate with
greaseoncea season(orderpart number737-0168).See Figure6-2.
NOTE: Torelievepressure,removethe vent plug beforelubricatingthe
gear case.See Figure23. Failureto do so could resultin damageto
the gear case seals.

Eachof the auger spiralassembliesis securedto the spiralshaftwith
a shearpin and cotter pin.If the augershouldstrikea foreignobjector
ice jam, the snowthroweris designedso that the pinsmay shear.

Replacethe pinsif needed.Tworeplacementshearpinsand
