III. VCD Instructions
REWIRING VOLTAGE CHANGE DEVICE MOTORS (VCD)
All motors are pre-wired from the factory for 460V operation.
Below are the instructions to change a motor to 230V operation.
Tools needed: 5/32" allen wrench (ball end or standard right angle), needle nose vice grips.
STEP 1: Using 5/32" allen wrench remove both screws and seal plate (seal is integral).
STEP 2: Using needle nose vice grips, remove 460V plug from motor. Attach vice grip to
rectangular tab and pull straight up. Wiggling side to side slightly as pulling up may aid removal.
***CAUTION: do not pry device out. This may damage the sealing faces of motor.
***Keep all parts and sealing surfaces clean – dirt will compromise seal.***
