In order to separate sterile from non-sterile areas, assign the following tasks to
the "non-sterile" or the "sterile" nurse or medical personnel.
Non-sterile tasks:
1. Open packaging of the cassette tube set.
2. Have the sterile personnel remove the tubes and the cassette from the pack-
age.
Sterile tasks:
1. Keep the Luer lock connection within the sterile area and hand the end with
the tap spikes (optional safe-lock connection with cap) and the tube cassette
to the "non-sterile" nurse or medical personnel.
2. Connect the Luer lock connector with the instrument (e.g. inflow cannula).
Non-sterile tasks:
1. Insert tube cassette into device.

Hold on to the pump when inserting the tube cassette. Use the grip edge (4)
at the bottom of the device to ensure the tube cassette is inserted properly
with one hand. Hold the tube cassette (2) as depicted in Fig. 5-4 "Inserting
the tube cassette".
2. Slide your fingers underneath the bottom of the device up behind the grip
edge (4) and hold on to the pump at the same time while using thumb and
hand to insert the tube cassette until it snaps into place. The front of the tube
cassette (3) must be flush with the device front. To remove cassette, press 1x
on the triangle pictogram on the front of the cassette. Part of the tube cas-
sette pops out and the cassette can then be removed.
