PIPES ON DOUBLE DUCT (Fig. 5.6).

Install a vent in the same room as the fireplace; the second
pipe can be used to carry hot air to the other rooms of the
house.

the appropriate distribution channels.
The air distribution pipes must have an inside cross
section of 25x15 cm, they must be made in plain
galvanised sheet and insulated with a 30 mm thick layer
of glass wool to prevent noise and the loss of heat.
When the fireplace is used to heat 2 or more adjacent
rooms, it is essential to help the recycling of the ambient
air to keep the temperature the same in each room. For
this purpose, install transit grilles on the doors or keep
them ajar.

CONNECTION TO THE FLUE

The device must be connected to the flue with pipes
and curves in aluminate steel or stainless steel. It can
be connected in two different ways:
A) Direct connection between fireplace and flue. If
it is not possible to pass with the pipes between the
fireplace and the hood, it is advisable to make it easier
to connect and assemble it with a hole to be made on
the hood itself (Fig. 5.8)
B) Connection with telescopic pipe kit (optional).
This is the way to do it if you are installing the product
on existing fireplaces.
First fix the telescopic pipe at a height so there is a
space of 2 ÷ 12 cm between the base of the connection
and the upper part of the device.
For fixing use self-tapping screws at the bottom of the
pre-hood ring or hood, at the fireplace opening.
Now fit the pipes and curves, sealing the joint with
ceramic fibre and cement mortar. If you are unable
to insert the pipes and fill in from the bottom, drill the
hood of the existing fireplace.
The connection to the flue or the passage section in
the pre-hood ring must be perfectly sealed (Fig. 5.8a
seal, Fig. 5.8b telescopic coupling).
In fact, if the sealing is not perfect, air could get through
the flue reducing the draught and the ceramic glass on the
door will turn black. Another consequence would be heat
escaping through the flue.
If there is a beam or other wooden parts in the existing
fireplace at a distance of less than 16 cm from the upper
edge of the appliance, it is necessary to protect the
combustible parts from heat with an insulating panel such
as cement chip or other suitable material (Fig . 5.8c).
Do not insert any draw regulation butterfly on the coupling.
