General instructions and explanations
The EBH 500 E electric hammer drill with pneumatic
hammer mechanism you have purchased can be
used for jobs where hammer drills are at their upper
power limit.
With the proven electro-pneumatic hammer
mechanism principle, this Einhell hammer drill can
hammer its way through
- masonry walls and
- cement ceilings
This modern drill is characterized primarily by its
compact construction and its extremely robustly
designed mechanism.

Safety precautions

The EBH 500 E is not suitable for driving
attachments.
Do not use near volatile or flammable liquids.
Only use sharp drill bits and suitable screw bits.
Unplug the drill before modifying or cleaning it.
Protect the mains cable from damage. Oil and
acid can damage the cable.
Do not carry the drill by its mains cable.
Do not remove the plug by pulling the mains
cable.

Be sure the power switch is not locked before
plugging in the drill.
The mains cable must only be replaced by a
qualified electrician.
Completely uncoil the cable when using a cable
drum. The cable cross section must be at least
1 mm
2
.
Do not overload the machine.
Adequately secure all work pieces.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Keep children away when drilling or chiseling.
Be sure to keep a secure footing while performing
hand work on ladders or scaffolds.
Use the additional handle when drilling near
electrical wiring.
When working in walls containing hidden
electrical, water or gas lines, first locate them by
means of a line finder.
Wear safety goggles and a dust mask when
performing dust producing jobs.
Maintenance
Always keep your drill clean.
Do not use any corrosive cleaners on plastic
parts.
Inspect the charcoal brushes if excessive spark
production is observed.
Keep the ventilation slits clear.
If you ascertain defects, you can use the enclosed
explosion diagram and parts list to exactly identify
spare parts, which can then be ordered from our
service center.
