When turning the crank counter-clockwise, the rope is winded off. However, to
release the arrest, the crank always has to be turned through 180 degrees first.
8) Maintenance
The user of the fall arrester is responsible for the execution of maintenance and
possible repairs. The DIN EN 365 and the printed work ZH 1/709 prescribe at
least one inspection of the Revac including the necessary ropes every year. Ins-
pection should take place at the manufacturer's plant or be executed thorou-
ghly by an authorized service station.
In addition to this, the Revac has to be checked for possible damages after each
use and to be maintained by an expert who then decides if the fall arrester can
be used furthermore.
After the arrest of a fall which can influence its carrying capacity, the fall
arrester has to be revised by an expert as per DIN EN 365 before being

- Please follow the also valid operating instructions
and check the Revac for defects before each putting
into operation (e. g. improper winding off or up,
slackline).
- Mount and secure the Revac at a safe place in the vicinity
of your dangerous working place by means of
a wire rope and a chain fastener (screw up the
chain fastener!) or a shackle.
-Only appropriate anchorage devices have to be used.
- Should the rope pass over sharp edges or should
slackline occur, pulleys have to be used.
- Set up the tripod as described in the appro
priate operating instructions.
- Fasten the Revac bracket to one of the tripod
legs by means of cotter pins.
- Fasten the Revac to the bracket by means of
cotter pins.
- Insert the wire rope in the guide pulley.
- Fasten the guide pulley to the top of the tri
pod by means of a cotter pin.
- Now the person that has to be secured can
hook the spring safety hook to the safety
harness.
-EIn case of a fall, the fall arrester arrests imme
diately, the fall is slowed down, stopped and
the person in need can be rescued.
-Release crank by removing the seal and the
safety bolt.
- To stabilize a free-hanging unit, fold out the
hand crank at the back of the unit and keep
hold of it while cranking.
- Having turned the crank through 180
degrees, the load becomes noticeable
- When turning the crank clockwise, the rope is winded up.
