b) connect mains plug
c) NOVUS Electro Tacker J‑155 and J‑155 A have a con‑
tact security device. The nose of the apparatuses must
be fixed firmly on the material for stapling ‑ i.e., the
pivotally mounted magazine must bear against the body
during the stapling operation.
With the NOVUS Electro Tacker J‑155, when the appara‑
tus is firmly applied, if the stapling means have not been
fully driven in, PAST‑IMPACTING can be performed by
several actuations of the triggering switch (5), without
putting down the apparatus in the meantime.
In the case of the J‑155 A NOVUS Electro‑Tacker,
actuating the trigger once with the tool firmly in place
will automatically produce multiple striking for staples
which have not been driven right in. This means that
the tacker will automatically continue striking (max. 4
strikes) the staple until it is fully embedded in the mate‑
rial being stapled.
With either apparatus, therfor, this ensures in any case
that the stapling means can be fully driven in, even
when very hard material is to be stapled.
d) If necessary redjust the impacting force.
Important hint:
Avoid actuating the triggering switch with the magazine
empty and without material for stapling!
N.B.:
Blank shots and excessive impacting force
= heavy wear
= shorter life!
7. Maintenance of the tacker
Clean the magazine space of dust and other resifues from
time to time. An occasional drop of oil on the pinion‑type
cutter does no harm (see VII).
A hint for the knowledgeable:
If you should mainly use nails, a touch with a file resharp‑
ens the blade edges.
For this purpose:
a) Pull out the plug
b) Push a rod at least 150 mm long through the bore at the
upper head end. Invert the apparatus and place on the
rod. The blade is forced out of the staple exit by a slight
counterpressure.
c) Sharpen the rounded edges lightly with a file.

10. Hint of lengthening cable is used
The power stated on the type plate refers tothe installation to
Standard of the electric supply line. The power of the tacker
therefore depends on the length of the supply line used and
its cross‑section. To avoid a marked drop in power, it is
recommended to use if necessary a lengthening cable of
minimum 1,5 mm
crosssection and a maximum length of 10 m.
