You can only work safely and well with a sharp
and clean saw chain. Damaged or incorrectly
sharpened saw chains increase the risk of
kickbacks.
The saw chain has to be sharpened if
only wood dust is thrown out instead of shavings
you have to press the chain saw through the wood during
cutting
Inexperienced users: Have the saw chain sharpened by a
specialist/service workshop.
If you sharpen the saw chain by yourself, note the values
below and use the supplied round file. (Additional accessories
are available from specialist shops.)

Only remove a little amount of material when
sharpening.
You can also sharpen your saw chain yourself by using our
electric sharpener KSG 220 A (article-no.: 302360).

• Check and clean the oil outlets (G) of the guide bar and the
guiding groove (H) on a regular basis.
• Remove any burr using a flat file.
• Turn
round
the
guide
exchange/sharpening to avoid single-side wearing.
Immediately replace a damaged guide bar.

The demand of the chain wheel is particularly great. Check
regularly the teeth of the chain wheel for wear or damages.
Clean the chain wheel (56) and the guide bar fixing
device using a brush.
A worn or damaged chain wheel reduces the
durability of the saw chain and should therefore
immediately be exchanged by the customer service.

Clean the machine and its accessories thouroughly after
each application so that the faultless function is kept.
Clean all movable parts on a regular basis.
Clean the case with a soft brush or a dry cloth.
Do not clean the machine under running water or using a
high-pressure cleaner.
Do not use solvents (gasoline, alcohol, etc.) for plastic parts,
otherwise such parts may be damaged.
Keep the handles free of oil and grease.
Water, solvents and polishing agents shall not be
applied.
Make sure that the ventilation slots (i) for the engine
cooling are free (risk of overheating).
Before each transport
− Switch off device.
− Wait until the cutting device does not longer move.
Attach the protective cover for the cutting tool.
• Carry the product with the handle.
• When transporting the product within a car put it in the boot
or on a separate loading area. Secure the machine against
tipping over, damages and fuel spillage.
• Keep unused machines with attached covers on blades and
swords in a dry and closed area out of the reach of children.
Do not store them close to a cooker, oven or hot-water
apparatus with permanent flame or other spark-generating
devices.
• Allow the engine to cool down before storing the machine.
• Before extended storage, please observe the following to

Thoroughly clean the device.
Oil all moving parts with environmentally compatible oil.
Do not use grease.
Empty the fuel tank completely.
Operate the engine until the carburetor is empty.
Check the machine for perfect condition to ensure a
