11. Always turn off the gas supply at the LP gas
supply container if the torch is not planned for
immediate use.
12. If gas fl ow is interrupted and fl ame goes out, do
not relight the torch until you are sure that all gas
that may have accumulated has cleared away.
In any event, do not relight the torch for at least
5 minutes.
13. This torch may be used with a minimum size 20
lb. capacity propane container when portability
is desired. However, this size will not provide
suffi cient vaporization and pressure for extended
torch operation. Ensure that additional 20lb.
containers are available, or use a larger gas
container (50 or 100 lb.).
14. When the torch is to be stored indoors allow the
torch to cool. The connection between the pro-
pane gas supply cylinder(s) and the torch must
be disconnected and the cylinder(s) removed
from the torch and stored in accordance with the
-Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liqui-
fi ed Petroleum Gases, ANSI/NFPA 58.
15. Propane gas supply containers have left handed
threads. Always use the appropriate wrench to
make a connection to tighten or loosen the POL
fi tting at the container's gas supply valve.
16. Always use pipe thread compound that is
resistant to propane gas when making threaded
connections.
17. The components on the torch that call for hand
operation should work with hand pressure only.
If more force is required, have a qualifi ed gas
heater service agency replace the defective part.
Do not attempt to repair.
18. Use only L.B. White replacement parts on our
torches. Use of an incorrect hose, regulator,
POL or excess fl ow valve may lead to gas leaks,
explosion, or asphyxiation. If the torch is pur-
chased without these items, or if any of the items
become lost or damanged, contact L.B. White to
obtain information on the correct parts to use.
