iGNiTiON SWITCH
Theignitionswitchis locatedon
the RH consoleto the rightof the
operator'sseat.Theignitionswitch
hasthree positionsas follows:
STOP_ -- The engineand electri-
cal systemis turnedoff.
RUN_-- Theriding mowerelectricalsystemis energized.
START_ -- The startermotor willturn overthe engine.Releasethe
key immediately whenthe enginestarts
NOTE:To prevent a ccidental s tartingand/orbatterydischarge,remove
thekeyfrom theignitionswitchwhenthe ridingmoweris notin use.
POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) SWITCH
The PTOswitchis locatedon the RH consoleto the rightof the opera-
tot's seatnext to the ignitionswitch.
The PTOswitchoperatesthe electricPTOclutchmountedon the bot-
tom of the enginecrankshaft.Pullthe switchknobupwardto engage
the PTOclutch,or pushthe knobdownward to disengagethe clutch.
The PTOswitchmustbe in the DISENGAGED positionwhenstarting
the engine.

Thehour meter/indicatorpanelis locatedon
the RH consoleto the rightof the operator's 1234.5
seat.The hourmeter recordsthe hoursthat
the ridingmowerhas beenoperatedin the
digitaldisplay.
Thehour meteris activatedwhenever the ignitionswitchis turnedto
the RUN_ position.Keepa recordof the actualhoursof operation
to assureall maintenance proceduresare completedaccordingto the
instructionsin this manualand the enginemanual.
THROTTLE CONTROL
Thethrottlecontrolis locatedon the LHconsoleto the left of the
operator'sseat.Whenset in a givenposition,a uniformenginespeed
will be maintained.
Pushthethrottlecontrol h andleforward to increase theenginespeed.The
ridingmowerisdesigned to operatewiththethrottlecontrolin theFAST
_;? position (fullthrottle)whentheridingmowerisbeingdrivenandthe
mowerdeckisengaged.
Pull thethrottlecontrol handlerearwardto decreasethe enginespeed.
CHOKE KNOB
Thechoke knobis locatedon the left sideof the mower
next to the operator'sseat.The choke knobcontrolsthe
positionof the enginechoke.Pullthe knobout to
chokeI'_,1 the engine;pushthe knob in to open
the chokeI JtI.
PARKING BRAKE ENGAGEMENT LEVER

The parkingbrakeengagement l everis locatedon the LHconsoleto
the left of theoperator'sseat,and whenpulledto the rear,ENGAGES
the parkingbrake.
NOTE:if the LHand RHdrivecontrol leversare not fullyopened
outwardto each sidein the neutralpositionwhenengagingthe parking
brake,the enginewill stop.Theparkingbrakemustbe placedin the
ENGAGED positionwhenstartingthe ridingmowerengine.
FUEL TANK
The fueltank is locatedto the rightof the operator'sseat.Turnthe fill
cap approximately 1/4turn and pull upwardto remove.
Pushthe cap downward on the fueltank fill neck and turn approxi-
mately1/4turnclockwiseto tightenAlwaysre-instal the fuel captightly
onto thefuel tank after removing.
Neverfill the fuel tank whenthe engine is running,if the engine is
hot from recentlyrunning,allowto cool for severalminutesbefore
refueling.Highlyflammablegasolinesplashingonto theengine could
_cause a f re.
Fuel Shut=Off Valve
The fuelshut-offvalve islocatedon top of the fuel tank.Whenturned
ina clockwisedirectionuntilitstops, itwill shut off the flow of fuel to
the engine.Whenturnedin a counterclockwise directionitwill open
and allowfuel to flow to the engine.See Figure11.

30 minutes,close this valveto preventfloodingthe engineon your next
attemptedstart-up.
