HYDROSTATIC
TRANSMiSSiON
Yourzeroturntractoris equippedwith dual integratedhydrostatic
pumps/transaxles that are sealedand are maintenance-free. However,
this modelis equippedwitha transmissionoil expansionreservoir.
Undernormaloperatingconditions,the oil levelin the expansion
reservoirdoes not needto be checkedand no additionaloil is needed.
If checkingthe reservoiroil level,proceedas follows:
Checkthe oil levelONLYbeforestartingthe tractorwhen the
transmission oil is fully cooled.
1.
Pivotthe operator'sseatforwardand clean the reservoircapand
the areaaroundthe cap to preventdebrisfrom contaminating the
transmissionoil. See Figure29.

2.
Turnthe reservoircapcounterclockwise to remove,thencheck
the oil levelin the reservoir.Oil shouldbe visibleat the bottomof
the cup, butthe oil level mustNOTbe abovethe "FULLCOLD"
line.See Figure29. DONOT FILLTHE RESERVOIR.
3.
If necessary t oaddoil because d sometypeof leakage, usea quality
20W50motor oilandaddonlyenough oil tobringthelevel t othe"FULL
COLD" line.Reinstall thecapandfullytighten.
NOTE: Priorto the initialoperationd the tractor, the oil levelin the
reservoirmay be slightlyhigherthan the maximumdue to air in the
oil lines.Operationof thetractorwill eventuallypurgethe air fromthe
linesand the oil levelwill settleto the maximum.
LUBRICATION
Usinga pressurelubricatinggun, lubricateall greasefittings and points
as notedin the Lubrication Chart.
Lubricateall otherpivotpoints with a quality lubricatingoil as notedin
the Oil Chart.
