1.4 CONTROL MODULE.
This is the part of the valve which consists of a geared motor and an electronic card with
limit switches for the various valve operational positions.
An electronic circuit, which emits commands so that the pre-established program is
executed.
Mechanical components which carry out the various valve movements.
The entire assembly is mounted inside a transparent casing which is closed by four screws.
The module features a control panel with push buttons and LEDs to indicate its various
functions.
The electrical input and output connections are protected by compression glands which
provide perfect protection against external agents which could damage the assembly.
The power supply is 115-230 Vac, 50-60 Hz.
There is a sensor and a resistance
installed in the control module so as to
maintain a proper temperature on the
inside to avoid condensation caused
by temperature differences that could
damage the electronics.
2. INSTALLATION.
2.1 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION.
Follow the following instructions in order to prepare the control box and its connection
to the electronic module:
- Power supply: 115-230 Vac. It is advisable to take the current from the control
box connect to the "out" terminal of the differential (if used), or else connect the
L, N and T terminals from the magneto thermal breaker to the corresponding
L, N and T terminals of the electronic module. This connection has no polarity.
We recommend that a 3 wire earthed cable of 0.75 mm
with a cord diameter of 5 to 6.7 mm (Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm). The cable
should meet the specifi cations for Low Voltage Regulation, as well as other local
regulations.
It is mandatory to install a multiple switch that allow the power failure of the
device from the control box.
It's essential for the valve to have the power supply switched on at all times, to
guarantee that the anti-condensation device works properly.
- Control of the contactor solenoid pump: connect series terminals 4-5 of the
valve with the input connection to the contactor coil A1. The valve will stop
the pump when any operation needs to be carried out. We recommend that a 2
thread cable of 0.75 mm
(Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm). This connection has no polarity.
This connection must be made for the valve's correct functioning, as the
electronics detects a minimum consumption to thus avoid, in this way, that the
operations are carried out with the pressure pump working which could damage
the valve.
It is important that only the solenoid contactor is connected and that there is no
other power source connected so that 0.4 A are exceeded.
Please see electric diagram for a clearer explanation of these connections.
A conventional control box (if possible, an AstralPool model) is always necessary in order
to programme fi ltration for your automatic valve set.
The basic components necessary in the control box are: Differential (advisable) Magneto
thermal breaker, pump contactor, Position switch (on "II", high "I") and timer programmer.
