Safety regulations with respect to the equipment

Persons are not allowed under the load.
Always position the toe jack on a solid and flat base. On a soft material base (timber, for example)
the base foot of the jack may be pushed into the material, due to which the toe jack may slant or tilt
if the lifting movement is continued.
The lifting toe and the base must be parallel to each other.
Before lifting, the lifting toe of the toe jack must be placed as closely as possible under the load to
prevent the lifting toe from breaking off.
The maximum lifting load relates to the correct lifting method according to Fig. 1/C. The maximum
lifting load on the top of the cylinder is 10 ton. If it is not possible to use the top of the cylinder due to
lack of space, the lifting toe must be loaded at a proportionally lower load from 5 to 8 ton. In such
cases the load may slip off the lifting toe. Careful lifting while propping up the load is very important
here.
The direction of lifting must in all cases be in line with the main axis of the jack to prevent skew
loads on the lifting toe and guides. The stable guides can absorb high transverse loads but the jack
may tilt or the guides may seize up if the allowable load is exceeded.
The carrying bracket must be removed temporarily if the top lifting position has to be used.
Lifting with the lifting toe in its top position is allowed only if the perfect parallel alignment between
the steel or concrete base and the load is ensured. The top section of the guides may be forced
apart due to transverse loads.
Lifting a load with one or more toe jacks may result in guide edge stress and skew loading.
High edge stresses result in distortion of the guides. The load must therefore be lifted as parallel as
possible.
Lifting with only two jacks must be carried out step-by-step.

Safety regulations with respect to the operation of the system

Make a risk assessment of the procedure before you start work (EN-ISO 12100).
Keep bystanders at a distance and be extra careful in the vicinity of people and animals.
Make sure the work area is clearly laid out and has good lighting.
Avoid stress and work in a structured way. This reduces the risk of errors, combinations of dangers
and accidents.
Before use, check the equipment for damage. Do not use the equipment if it is not in good condition
and consult your Holmatro dealer.
Stand on a stable base and use both hands to hold the equipment.
During operation, never get between the object and the equipment.
Monitor the situation of the equipment and the structure continuously while using the equipment.
Parts of an object that could fly off must be secured.
Never couple or uncouple couplers while the system is under pressure.
Use only genuine Holmatro accessories and ensure that they have been attached correctly.
Make sure that parts of the body never come between moving parts. There is a risk that parts of the
body may be crushed or cut.
Stop immediately if the system makes strange noises or displays aberrant behaviour.
Stop immediately if the equipment leaks oil. Oil escaping under pressure can penetrate the skin and
cause serious injury. Go immediately to a hospital with a person who is injected with oil for medical
help. Give a specification of the oil to the medical staff.
