Congratulations on the purchase of your new SOLO
Mower. We are confident that you will be very pleased
with this modern product.
SOLO Mowers are extremely efficient and will assist
with the maintenance of a well cared lawn.
SOLO Mowers are designed for private use around the
house and for smaller areas only. These mowers are not
designed for use in park areas, around sporting facili-
ties and in agriculture and forestry.
A special engine manual is attached to this manual. The
engine manual should be considered as part of the
complete manual.
Before using your new mower, thoroughly
read the operating manual and familiarize
yourself with all operational aspects.
Observe all hints, explanations and regulations. Adher-
ence to the operating manual is essential for the proper
use of the mower.
Do not use the mower while other persons (especially
children) or animals are in close proximity. The operator
is responsible for personal injuries or property damage
of other persons.

General Safety Guide Lines

Due to potential bodily harm, the mower
should not be used for the following pur-
poses:-

Trimming of shrubs, bushes or hedges
-
Pruning of vines or trimming of roof plantings or
plants in balcony or window boxes.

Cleaning and sweeping of footpaths
-
Mulching of tree cuttings or hedge clippings
-
Leveling of soil such as mole hills or similar
-
Drive unit for other equipment
-
Trailer
-
Transporter (self-propelled models) of all kinds of
goods other than the grass clippings in grass catcher.
Any use of the mower other than for the purpose it has
been designed for voids any claim for warranty.
General Safety Guide Lines for SOLO walk-
behind mowers with combustion engine
-
Do not allow children to use this mower or any
other persons unfamiliar with the operation of
this mower. Children under the age of 16 should
not use the mower.
-
Please observe local regulations which may deter
mine the minimum age for using a mower.
-
Do not lend the mower to other persons without
unfamiliar with the machines without also provid-
ing the operating manual.
-
Explain possible dangers or potential injury situa-
tions to potential operators of the mower.

Only mow during daylight hours or with sufficient
artificial light.
-
People fitted with pace makers are not allowed to
touch any part of the ignition system during start-
ing of the engine or while the engine is running.
-
Mowers with 4-cycle engine are not suitable for
slopes with a gradient of 15deg. or more.
-
Store your mower in a safe , lockable and dry
place with not access for children.

Prior to mowing

-
Always check the complete area for objects, such
as rocks, wood, bones or similar
-
Always wear sturdy shoes and long trousers. Never
mow bare footed or with sandals.
-
Always mow with either grass catcher of grass
deflector and ensure these are properly fitted.
Mowing without or damaged catcher / deflector
is dangerous.
-
Ensure the mowing blade is secured properly and
not excessively worn.
-
When replacing the blade, observe correct fitting
procedure and correct tightening torque.
-
Frequently check grass catcher for wear and tear.
-
Mowers with 4-cycle engine have to be filled with
engine oil. Please refer to the separate engine
manual.

Always check engine oil level.
Fuel
Handling of Fuel
Handling of fuel requires care.
-
Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel outdoors,
never indoors.
-
Do not smoke or refuel with an open flame in
close vicinity
-
Do not spill fuel
-
If fuel is spilled, clean mower immediately and
before starting the mower.
-
Avoid any fuel spills on clothing. If necessary,
change clothing
-
Avoid any fuel spills on the ground (environmental
protection)
-
Transport and store fuel only in approved and
specially marked containers.
-
If damage occurs, immediately replace fuel tank,
