3 Use During an Emergency
Attach the CPRmeter to the Patient's Chest
1. Make certain the patient is on a firm surface.
2. Remove clothing from the patient's chest.
3. Remove the CPRmeter from its red sleeve.
4. Turn on the CPRmeter by pressing the On /
Off button once.
5. If the patient's chest is wet, dry it before
attaching the CPRmeter.
6. Peel off the green liner from the CPRmeter
patient adhesive to expose the white adhesive
surface.
7. Position the CPRmeter so that the
compression area is on the lower half of the
sternum (breastbone), on the centerline of
the bare chest, as illustrated on the front of
the CPRmeter.
8. If the CPRmeter moves during use, re-position
it to the center of the chest, as described
above.
9. If difficulty is encountered in applying the CPRmeter,
do not delay initiation of CPR. Remove the CPRmeter
and begin compressions.
WARNING: Do not use the CPRmeter in conjunction
with any mechanical or automated compression device.
WARNING: Do not use the CPRmeter on top of
defibrillation pads, unless the manufacturer of the
defibrillator and the defibrillation pads has explicitly
stated that the CPRmeter can be used in such manner.
