5. Install Power Splice Connection (Continued)
5. D-Connect Heating Cable Buss Wires and Braid To Power Supply
5.D.1. Position the ground braid of heating cable
and the ground lead of the Power Cord on
the same side. Slide 15 cm (6") large heat
shrink over heating cable.
Do not shrink at this time.
5.D.2. Crimp the heating cable Buss Wires to
Power Cord lead wires using Insulated
Splice Connectors.
5.D.3. Shorten (cut) the ground braid strap on the
heating cable so that ground braid strap
and ground lead meet at the splice
centerline. Tightly twist the ground braid
strands together. Crimp the ground braid
to the ground lead using a Insulated Splice
Connector.
5.D.4. Shrink the connectors with heat gun until
completely shrunk.
5.D.5. Center the 15 cm (6") large shrink tube over
the splice – ensure at least 25.4 cm (1") over-
lap of heat shrink on cable Outer Jackets –
and shrink (starting at center) with heat gun.
