If the soldering station is operated without or with a defective
soldering iron a warning sound can be heard and the display will
flash „ERROR". See Fig. 11.

The heating element and the temperature sensor might be
damaged.

Cold soldering joints and too high soldering temperatures can
be avoid. These can lead to the burning of the flux and thus to
unclean and unsafe solder joints and cause damage to the com-
ponents to be soldered.
The temperature necessary for soldering has been reached
when the solder melts on the soldering tip.

Oxidation during the soldering process will be prevent.
When using solder grease the residues should remain after
working with e. g. spirit and a rag or brush are removed. Other-
wise, the remaining solder grease could cause a short circuit.

E.g. 300 °C: After pressing the „300 °C" button the selected
temperature is dispalyed as „SET 300°C". The upper value to
the right of „Temp." climbs to 300 °C. Meanwhile, at the right
side of the display „HEAT ON" and „WAIT" will be displayed until
the set temperature has been reached. See Fig. 11.
„WAIT" appears in the display while the temperature of the
soldering iron is increased or lowered. Temperature shifts of
around 10 °C / 50 °F around the set values are normal.
With the „+Up" and „-DOWN" button (4) you can set the tem
peratures by a briefly press with a resolution of 1 °C or 2°F. If
you hold the button, the display will change in steps of 10 °C or
18 °F. When the desired values is reached, just release the
button.
Material damage
Do not use the soldering station without an connected
soldering iron.
Do not use the soldering iron without a soldering tip.
Do not use the soldering station longer than necessary in
the maximum setting (450°C / 842 °F) to avoid excessive
stress on the soldering tip.
Select the right temperature for every job.
Use flux exckusively for less delicate work to remove oxides
on the soldering jonts.
Switch on the soldering station with the ON/OFF switch (2).
Press the °C / °F button (9) to change the scalae from °C to
°F or vice versa.
The selected unit is shown in the display (3).
Select the required temperature by means of the tempe
rature preselect buttons „200 °C", „300 °C" and „400 °C"
(10) and the UP/DOWN buttons (4).
