Maintenance and cleaning

W A R N I N G
Possible death or severe injury from hazardous electrical voltage!
• Prior to reaching into the water, isolate (switch off and disconnect) all units/devices used in the water.
• Isolate the device (disconnect from the power supply) before carrying out any work on it.
How to proceed:
Regular cleaning (Figure F)
1. Remove the filter basket (8).
2. You can leave the SwimSkim CWS in the water by hooking in a sufficiently long pole at the handle (4) and removing
the filter basket (8).
3. Clean the filter basket (8) with clean water and a soft brush. If a foam filter (7) was used before, clean same addi-
tionally with clean water.
4. Set the filter basket (8) in the SwimSkim CWS again.
Complete cleaning (Figure F-I)
1. Remove the unit from the water.
2. Remove filter basket (8) and, if necessary, the foam filter (7).
3. Undo three screws (17) from the container and remove the container (16).
4. Disconnect the air hose (24) connected to the intake socket (23) from the air controller (25). During cleaning, the air
hose (24) remains in the intake socket (23).
5. Unscrew the flow-out nozzle (3).
6. Remove the pump (18) from the pump chamber (1)
7. Disassemble the pump (18):
– Pull off the intake socket (23).
– Unscrew four screws (19) from the rear of the pump.
– Remove pump housing (22), O-ring (21) and the impeller (20).
8. Clean all components using clean water and a soft brush. If a foam filter (7) was used, clean same with clean water.
9. Reassemble the unit in the reverse order.
N O T E
Check the position of the air hose (24) in the intake socket (23).
Insert the air hose up to the mark (26) to ensure that the water aeration functions correctly.

Remedy of faults

Malfunction
The unit does not switch on
Insufficient delivery rate
No aeration
Unit switches off after a brief running time (ap-
prox. 10 s)
The unit floats up
Unit floats up, pump is switched on
12
Cause
No mains voltage
Air in the pump housing
Impeller blocked
Filter basket soiled
Air hose kinked or disconnected
The air hose is not inserted up to the mark in
the intake socket
Water temperature too high
Pump run dry
Filter basket full or clogged
Impeller soiled
Remedy
Check mains voltage
Pull the power plug; for venting, tilt the unit to-
wards the skimmer flap
Clean
Clean
Ensure secure fastening and avoid kinks in the
air hose
Correctly position the air hose in the intake
socket
Note maximum water temperature of +35°
Clean pump and unit For switching on again,
pull the power plug and reinsert in the socket
Switch off the unit and clean filter basket
Switch off the unit and clean impeller
