Battery charger SMC-HF 100, 250, 300
Instructions
Please read through these instructions carefully before using the
battery charger. Store the instructions in a safe place so that anyone
using the battery charger always has access to them.
General
SMC-HF 100, 250, 300 is a regulated battery charger. SMC-HF 100, 250, 300 is avail-
able in different designs for charging either flooded or valve-regulated lead/acid batteries.
The battery charger is supplied with a pre-set charging curve adapted for the bat-
tery type specified on order. A set charging curve can be read off the battery charger's
rating plate.
The regulated charger controls current and voltage throughout the charging process.
Charging progress is indicated by LEDs on the battery charger panel. Charging time
and the temperature of the battery charger are monitored and charging is limited in the
event of faults with cells or inadequate cooling. Throughout the charging process, the
battery charger collects data and performs calculations in order to ensure the battery is
fully charged based on the level of discharge, temperature, age, etc.
Safety
The battery charger is intended for indoor and outdoor use.
Follow the battery supplier's instructions for handling batteries.
Only use accessories explicitly recommended by the supplier.
The battery charger must only be used with the battery types for which it is
designed.
The battery charger is supplied with a pre-set charging curve adapted for the bat-
tery type specified on order.
When changing battery type, you must contact the supplier. If the battery charger
is not set up correctly, the battery will be damaged.
Disconnect the battery and mains power supply before undertaking maintenance,
troubleshooting or cleaning the battery charger.
The battery charger must only be connected to an earthed wall socket.
Do not use the battery charger if it is damaged. Do not touch damaged parts.
Disconnect the mains power supply and battery voltage immediately and contact
service personnel.
