GENERAL INFORMATION.
2.1
This manual.
This Instructions Manual has been prepared in order to in-
struct the staff assigned to the installation, the operation
and the maintenance of the Welding Data Logger, art. 408.
It must be conserved with care, in a famous place to the
several one interested, it have to be consulted every time
are doubts, employee for the replacement parts request and
will have to follow all the operating life of the machine.
2.2
Equipment concept.
Operating the equipment incorrectly and work that is
not carried out correctly can cause serious injury and
damage.
Do not use the functions described here until you have
read and completely understood all of the following
documents:
G
− this Instructions Manual;
B
− Instructions Manual of the equipments composing
the welding system (e.g.: power source, wire feeder,
control panel, included witch of eventual option).
The Welding Data Logger, art. 408 is a system for acquiring
and processing data with the purpose of welding quality
control, diagnostic and processes tracking.
It consists of a device to be connected to a Cebora power
source and to make their data available on a local (Intranet)
or global (Internet) area network.
There are three main features:
− Manage Machine, power source capabilities manage-
ment;
− Quality Control, quality control capabilities manage-
ment;
− Configuration, data logger overall configuration
management.
It is applicable to the MIG processes, in both manual and
automated systems installation.
2.2.1
Main features.
− Connection to the power source via serial line with
proprietary communication protocol;
− connection to PC or CNC via Ethernet connection;
− acquiring real-time data from the power source;
− storing data in internal memory, with export possibility
on USB memory stick or other device (remote server)
connected to the LAN;
− software "Linux-based".

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION.
3.1
Art. 408 architecture.
The Welding Data Logger system, art. 408 is made up of
the data logger (Fig. 3) and the table support.
The cable for power source connection is not included in
the delivery and must be ordered separately.
The data logger is available in two versions to choose de-
pending on the installation type:
− Standalone, cod. 408.00, full version, completed of
data processing unit and operator interface, made by the
touch-screen display panel;
− Blackbox, cod. 408.01, version with only data pro-
cessing unit and without operator interface. In or-
der to work must be connected via Ethernet to a PC
or a CNC having installed a web browser program
(e.g.: Firefox).
3.2
Data logger unit.
The data logger "Standalone" version, consists of the dis-
play module (11), the cpu board (12) and interface board
(17) (see schematic diagram, par. 10).
In the "Blackbox" version the display module (11) is ab-
sent and in its place there is a plastic cover. The remaining
parts are identical.
