8.
INTERNAL FUSE REPLACEMENT FOR THE BOOSTER
The Portable Power is equipped with an internal fuse to protect the battery from overload.
Fuse Specification
Models PBI4424, PBI3612 and PBI3624 – Fast blow, DC automotive type, rated 32 V,
500 A (Buss AMG-500).
Model PBI2212 – Fast blow, DC automotive type, rated 32 V, 300 A (Buss AMG-300).

1. Be sure the switch is in the OFF position and the unit is unplugged from
the wall outlet.
2. Remove the clamps from the storage compartment on the side back of the unit.
3. Remove the 6 screws from the base of the unit (6 x M3.5, 12mm). Keep track
of where each screw came from. Make sure to put each screw back into the
appropriate hole.
4. Using a long screwdriver, remove the 20 screws from the back of the unit, then take
the cover off (10 x M4, 25mm, 10 x M4, 16mm).
5. The fuse is installed on the positive side of the battery. Using 2 wrenches, with one
on the nut and one on the bolt, remove the first nut and bolt securing the fuse on the
positive side of the battery. Repeat the same steps for the second bolt. Remove the
open fuse and replace it with a new one of the same type and rating.
6. Reinstall the hardware as it was originally stacked on the fuse, then tighten the nuts
and bolts to secure the fuse.
7. To reassemble the unit, reverse the steps listed above.
9.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BOOSTER
9.1
Unplug the charger from the booster before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
9.2
Use a dry cloth to wipe all battery corrosion and other dirt or oil from the battery clamps,
cords and the booster case. Do not use cleaning fluids.
9.3
Ensure that all of the booster components are in place and in good working condition.
9.4
All other servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel.
10.
MOVING AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BOOSTER
10.1
Store the booster in an upright position, inside, in a cool, dry place.
10.2
Always make sure the booster is fully charged before storing. When not using it for long
periods of time, recharge the booster every 30 days.
