Set the main switch to "I" and adjust light intensity.
Set the Bertrand lens ring on "O"
Insert analyzer into the light path
Set on "T" the light path selector on the reflected
Insert 10x objective into the light path
Remove the sample from the optical path and check
for light extinction
Focus the specimen
Adjust aperture and field diaphragms
Insert in the light path the desired objective and
focus the specimen
Begin observation
