OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To start trimmer, move ON/OFF switch to ON position, to stop, move switch
back to original position (Figure A).
BATTERIES
Your cordless trimmer uses two "AAA" batteries. To insert batteries, push
battery compartment cover (Figure A) in and down. Insert batteries as shown
on inside of trimmer.
USING ATTACHMENT COMB
Your trimmer comes complete with an adjustable 7-position attachment
comb. Before using, always make sure your trimmer is switched to the OFF
position. To use the attachment comb, position it in runners on sides of
trimmer head and slide it into place over blades (Figure B). There are seven
settings: 13 (first setting) for longest length and 1 (last setting) for shortest
trimming length. To remove the comb, push the locking button (Figure A)
and push comb upward and off of trimmer.
FACIAL TRIMMING
When using the trimmer for facial trimming, first stretch the skin taut and
push the trimmer lightly over the skin, shaving with the direction of the hair.
The trimmer protects the face from further irritation.
NOTE: If your face is sore, press the trimmer very lightly against the skin
when you shave, shaving with the direction of the hair. If soreness continues,
stop shaving for a few days. Continue to brush your beard daily to train it to
grow in one direction. Then use the trimmer to trim your face completely
and remove all ingrown hairs. After your face heals, you can return to your
preferred method of shaving. Use the trimmer whenever the ingrown hair
problem returns.
USER MAINTENANCE
The internal mechanism of your trimmer has been permanently lubricated at
the factory. Other than the recommended maintenance described in this
manual, no other maintenance should be performed, except by Andis
Company or an Andis authorized service station.
BLADES
When trimming is complete, slide ON/OFF switch to OFF position and
remove the attachment comb (if being used) (Figure B). Lightly brush out
blades with the blade cleaning brush provided. For best results put Andis
4
Clipper Oil on the blade when necessary (at least once a day). Blades can
be snapped open for easier cleaning (Figure C). Motor bearings are
permanently lubricated—do not attempt to oil. Blades should be handled
carefully and never used to cut dirty or abrasive material. Do not use while
bathing or in the shower, as damage to batteries and product may occur.
PROPER BATTERY DISPOSAL
Batteries may contain heavy metals such as mercury, lead,
cadmium, and nickel, which can be harmful to the environment
when improperly disposed of. Remove dead batteries from the
unit and dispose of properly. Some communities offer recycling
or collection of batteries – contact your local government for
disposal practices in your area.
Caution: Never handle your Andis trimmer while you are operating a water
faucet, and never hold your clipper under a water faucet or in water. There
is danger of electrical shock and damage to your clipper. Andis Company
will not be responsible in case of injury due to this carelessness.
