For maximum water flow, it is
recommended that the largest tubing
size recommended for your pump is
used.
Step 1. If using 1-in ID tubing, trim
the tubing adapter using a hacksaw at
the location indicated. Connect tubing
to the inlet of the filter using a tubing
adapter and o-ring. Connect tubing to
the outlet of the filter using a tubing
adapter and the flow indicator as
shown. Utilize the clamp for a secure fit.
Step 2. Connect the plug into a properly
grounded electrical outlet once the
pump has been turned on and water is
running through the filter.
Step 3. An indicator light will illuminate
to indicate that the UV light is
functioning correctly.
NOTE: Allow a few weeks for beneficial
bacteria to become fully established
within the filter.
NOTE: Biological filtration is optimal at
water temperatures of 50 °F or higher.
NOTE: In the event the filter overheats,
the UV light will automatically turn off, and will switch on when the filter
temperature has cooled.
MAINTENANCE
Occasional cleaning of the filter
pads will be necessary to ensure
the proper functioning of the filter.
Every four weeks or when water
exiting the filter is still murky, a
cleaning is required.
Step 1. Disconnect pump and
filter from the power source.
Remove tubing from the filter by
disconnecting the nut from the inlet
and outlet.
Step 2. Attach the tubing
connected to the pump to the
outlet, and connect a third line of tubing to the inlet using the tubing
adapter and o-ring.
