The RAID Utility allows you to configure your DriveStation Duo in several modes:
Normal Mode - Appears to your computer as two separate hard drives. Note that
normal mode only works with a USB connection. With an eSATA connection, only
one drive will be visible.
Spanning Mode - Appears to your computer as one large hard drive.
RAID 0 Mode - Appears to your computer as a single drive. Higher performance
than Spanning Mode.
RAID 1 Mirror - Appears to your computer as a single drive. The second drive is
an exact copy of the first drive, for redundancy.
Notes:
・ Changing the mode of the drives in your Duo will erase all data on them! Back
up any important data before using the RAID utility.
・ Your computer must be connected to the DriveStation via USB to change the
RAID mode.
On a PC, You may launch the RAID Utility by clicking on [RAIDUtility] in the
DriveStation Duo program group.Or, you can launch the program from the Start
menu.
On a Mac, Double-click [RaidUtility] icon on your desktop.
