ANSWERING MACHINE

Use the answering machine to record incoming messages during your ab-
sence or to leave a message for a caller.
The answering machine will automatically add the date and time to every
message. You must therefore set the date and time in order to use the an-
swering machine properly. Set the date and time at the handset (see page
66).

Switching on and off

 To switch the answering machine on or off, press the
base station.

When the answering machine is switched off, the display will show:
"– –", alternating with the number of new messages (if applicable).

When the answering machine is switched on, the display will show
the number of stored messages; in the factory settings: "--".
To switch off the answering machine with the handset, proceed as follows:
 Choose the "Answ. machine" menu.
 Select the "AM on/off" sub-menu.
 To switch off the answering machine, select the "Off" option and press
the right control key "OK".
The answering machine is now switched off.
 To switch the answering machine back on, select the "On" option and
press the right control key "OK".
