Using the instrument
Prepare the solution to be
measured and let it stabili-
ze. Pour the solution to be
measured into the test tube
for measurement. Caution:
the screws at the both ends
of the test tube should not be
tightened more than necessa-
ry, otherwise they can genera-
te mechanical tension which
can affect the accuracy of the
measurement. (Fig.5)
Connect the power supply
to the LED. (Fig.6)
Rotate the scale knob until
you have an equal illumina-
tion of the viewing field as
described earlier. Check the
zero-position of the scale.
If the zero-position is not
correct, you can unscrew the
four connecting screws in the
scale's cover and rotate the
scale's shell until it reaches
the zero-position (the system
allows a maximum correction
of 0.5°). If the correction is
not sufficient you may add or
subtract the error value in the
actual measurement reading.
